About the work
Ruined chapel in forest with stag and ethereal figure holding a lantern. Autumn leaves floating on water with reflections.
A Gallic tree goddess, Druantia is an archetype of the eternal mother as seen in the evergreen boughs. Her name is believed to be derived from the Celtic word for oak trees, "Drus" or "Deru". She is known as "Queen of the Druids".
She is often seen as the eternal, wise, and knowledgeable mother, the one who guides the seeker to their truth path as she instructs and teaches the sacred ways of the forest. She is depicted as tall, and carries the 'green magic'. She symbolizes protection, knowledge, creativity, and growth.
